Youth and the Wider Church
We encourage our young people to participate in camping opportunities at Pilgrim Pines, a United Church of Christ campground in the San Bernardino Mountains. We also attend the Central Association Fall and Spring Meetings and other denomination-sponsored youth events. These activities include:
• FUNtastic FestiFall, a United Church of Christ-sponsored overnight fun and service event.
• Junior High JANboree camp at Pilgrim Pines for kids in 6th through 8th grades. It is held over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend.
• FEBCamp at Pilgrim Pines is for high school students. It is held over the President's Holiday weekend.
• Confirmation Camp at Pilgrim Pines is for young people being confirmed. It is held in March of each year.
• YUM is Youth Uniting in Mission. This is a one-day service project for Southern California United Church of Christ youth held each spring.
• Summer Camp at Pilgrim Pines is offered in one-week sessions for five weeks in July and August. CYMC week, which is planned by Youth Roundtable, is the fourth week of camp.
• United Church of Christ Western Regional and National Youth Events are held on even-numbered years. Our young people attended the Regional Youth Event in June of 2006 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
