Anchors
Anchors is a social group which meets occasionally – usually on a Sunday afternoon or evening for a potluck meal and “just for fun” sharing time. Open to any adult, Anchors has been described as a group of folks “with at least one earned gray hair.” Meetings of Anchors are publicized in the church newsletter, The Pilgrim.
Kindred Spirits
Kindred Spirits is an affinity group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender folks and friends – which means everyone is welcome! The group meets for a potluck dinner on the fourth Saturday of each month in the home of one of the members for. Watch the newsletter for locations.
Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner
Once or twice a year, folks sign up for a potluck dinner and are assigned to an unidentified host with other identified guests. The result is a surprise mix of longtime and newer members and a chance to deepen friendships.
Serendipity
Our women’s fellowship group meets occasionally for lunch, socializing and a brief program. These meetings are held at the church, which makes them convenient for women who work downtown as well as women who are retired. Watch the calendar and the newsletter for specific dates.
Friday Night at First Church (FN@FC)
Not so much a group as an activity, folks gather on the first Friday of most months during the school year for supper and relaxed social time – generally games or a movie. FN@FC starts at 6 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m.; a donation of $5 covers the cost of supper. Parent’s Night Out, a monthly gathering of children, goes on at the same time, giving parents a free evening. Parents are welcome to join FN@FC if they’d like. Check the calendar to be sure of the dates.
