There are always many activities and events going on at First Church - sometimes so many events, it is hard to choose. As you continue your relationship with this community of faith as members, we encourage you to involve themselves in as many things as possible. Through participation in the life of this church, this church can have a greater meaning in your life, and your contribution will be an important benefit to the church.
There are many things in life that cost money, and church is one of them. We have to choose according to our resources and our values how much money goes to what need. No one can tell you what your contribution should be. We have 145 individuals and families making pledges to First Church. These pledges range from $120 per year to $38,000 per year. The average pledge is about $3000 per year.
Some will reach for their calculators and review the financial circumstances that affect their lives and the life of their church to determine the appropriate amount. Others will look into their hearts and minds to determine what value this church has and what level of giving is appropriate. We pay for what we love, and we pay more for what we love the most. Your decision will be as individual as you are.
If you are ready to commit a regular amount at this time, please fill out the attached pledge card. As a method of payment, you can write a check on a regular basis. You may prefer to contribute via a credit card or a regular bank account donation. This can be arranged through the church office by a phone call to our bookkeeper (562-436-2256 ext. 225), or you can set up your own account on this website. Click on "Support the Church" on the menu on the left, choose "Giving" and follow the prompts.
