Current Volunteer Opportunities
God never intended for First Church to be a stadium for Christian spectators! The success of the church relies heavily on the willingness of its people to dive in and get involved. God designed each person with unique abilities, gifts and passions.
First Church offers a number of exciting ways to serve. Browse through this section and take advantage of one of them! The ministries of our church depend on volunteers to function.
Please consider serving in one of these areas:
Sunday Drop-In Center for the Homeless
On Sunday afternoons, we open the doors of Patterson Hall to our homeless neighbors. They eat a snack and enjoy reading, watching movies, playing games and talking with one another and our volunteers. Many check their email and write job applications and resumes in our Computer Lab. The Drop-In Center provides a safe place for people to go on the day of the week when many agencies which serve the homeless are closed.
The Drop-In Center is open from 12:30 to 4 pm on Sundays. We are always looking for volunteers. Contact Teri Brewster, Director, for more information (teriandart@earthlink.net or 714-573-5883).
Sunday Mornings/Church School
Children from pre-school through high school have age-appropriate classroom experiences with volunteer teachers.
